Bocce

Ruby Hill Golf Club Members enjoy this ancient sport throughout the year.

Bocce is a precision sport closely related to bowls and p├ętanque with a common ancestry from ancient games played in the Roman Empire. Developed into its present form in Italy, it is played around Europe and also in overseas countries that have received Italian immigrants, including the United States, Canada, Australia, Brazil and Argentina (where it is known as bochas), initially amongst the immigrants themselves but slowly becoming more popular with their descendants and the wider community.

Here in the U.S., the sport is becoming wildly popular and at Ruby Hill Golf Club, we take our Bocce seriously! Unlike "Championship Bowling," bocce is not a game of roll, slam, crash, rack and have another brewski. It's a true sport involving skill, fitness, strategy and cunning.

Our Members regularly enjoy the Bocce leagues on our two regulation sized courts and while there can be fierce competition, it's a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable way to spend an afternoon or evening in the company of other Members.
